Blessed love at Hacienda Tekik de Regil 💝 Diane & Carlos
On this occasion, we accompany Diane & Carlos, from San Antonio Texas, from day one to organize their destination wedding and celebrated their blessed love. They chose the best time to travel to Yucatan, being here they fell in love with Tekik de Regil Merida, so they chose it as the location for one of the most important celebrations of their lives, their wedding. Together with hundreds of guests, they were able to enjoy this evening in the light.
Planning a wedding can be a complicated process, with many decisions to be made; but after a long way, comes the satisfaction of celebrating an incredible wedding.
This hacienda is located 40 minutes from Merida, it has unparalleled buildings, and over 90 meters of hand-painted murals by a Yucatecan artist, Calocho Millet. It’s one of the few henequen haciendas that still conserve their splendor thanks to the restoration and care that has been given to it for the last years.
Blessed love and unforgettable day
The hacienda wedding Mexico has two incredible suites and for the Getting Ready, Diane chose the room that has a pergola. In that room, all the special women in her life helped her look even more beautiful.
During this time they tasted the Yucatecan snacks that the hacienda offers, along with freshwater and coffee for the guests who are accompanying the couple at this time.
The bride and her group had makeup and hair service in the same room. Diane wore a beautiful white lace dress with small straps uncovered in the back alongside a very discreet cauda. Her bouquet had a dozen gannets, something simple but not less elegant.
Carlos on the other side was having a great time relaxing with his friends in his room, chilling by the pool, and enjoying the food and drinks the hacienda provided for them; as well as the pizza they ordered to complete the menu.
When the time came, Carlos entered the room to take a good shower and start getting ready. Carlos surprised us with a beige suit and a nice coral tie.
A blessing day and romantic encounters
After being ready for the ceremony it was time for the long-awaited first look. This special moment was held in the halls of the main house of the hacienda, a wonderful corner with original structures renovated with more than a century of antiquity. We were happy to see Carlos’ reaction to seeing Diane in her tight lace dress and her bouquet of gannets.
God blessed me with you my love
Together with their friends and family, Diane and Carlos were transported from Tekik de Regil to Iglesia de la Tercera Orden located in downtown Mérida, in order to get to the mass, while all the other guests were already at the church waiting for them.
When they arrived at the enclosure, the parents of the bride and groom entered followed by the wedding cortege. Once everyone was at their positions, Diane & Carlos entered together while holding hands, something a little bit out of the ordinary.
As in every religious ceremony, the readings started then the psalm and when the time came, the wedding ritual began. At this moment Diane & Carlos promised to be together until death does them part, keeping mutual respect for each other and to harvest their love so that it never ends.
The communion was a very emotional moment for the couple in which they shed tears of happiness. Before the end of the ceremony, the couple gave the Virgin Mary a bouquet as an offering to take care of them and bless them in their marriage. Once the bouquet was given, the father announced them as husband and wife. Finally, Carlos was able to kiss Diane.
It was a very emotional ceremony for everyone, the “Yes, I do” of the couple brought tears of happiness to the audience.
Once the ceremony ended, the guests and couple were ready to take the transportation to Tekik de Regil to enjoy an unforgettable reception.
Love blessed in the details
Diana and Carlos chose to have a theme wedding that matched the Hacienda. Even though they were heavily inspired by the past, they decided to add some modern touches so that their reception could look incredible. For both the cocktail and dinner wooden furniture was used in light and beige tones.
Guests were received with a welcome cocktail and canapés at the main house’s gates. During the cocktail, the guests were able to try Yucatecan canapés such as chaya empanadas with ball cheese, chimichangas de cochinita pibil, and panuchos.
Afterward, the newlyweds invited them all to the central garden of the hacienda to enjoy an international dinner with 100% Yucatecan touches. During the dinner, the guests tasted a delicious chaya cream and a lime soup.
The assignment of guests was done by means of a globe in which each guest had to look for the flag of the country that the couple assigned to them. In that flag, they would find their seat.
All the blessings to the couple
At the main table was Diane & Carlos accompanied by their best friends. Once the dinner was over, Carlos’s brother and best friend dedicated a few words of happiness to the couple, the last one to offer a few words was Carlos himself, who thanked all those present for traveling from different parts of the United States to accompany them on this important day. At the end of his words, he invited Diane to the center of the floor for their first dance as a husband and wife.
We were lucky to see how the Mexican-American couple offered their best steps to the rhythm of salsa, a style of music that they both love. When they finished, Carlos joined his mother for their own dance, and so did Diane with her dad.
After the emotive dances, the party started and all the guests enjoyed the music and dance floor. After midnight, the bride and groom invited the guests to send their best wishes to the sky with cantanya balloons.
The night ended at the rhythm of the mariachi music, a spectacular moment in which the guests could enjoy a very Mexican experience.
