This couple fell in love with the idea of having a wedding in a cenote. Being something that very few people have the opportunity to do, those who decide to live the adventure of having an intimate wedding in a sacred place like this do not regret it at any time.
Cenote X’batun is located in the south of the state, 45 minutes from Merida that due to its current state can host events of up to 40 people.
Moments of joy
On the day of the event, Erizol and Christian got ready at a hotel in Merida along with their family and friends. Erizol, with the help of her mom, wore a trumpet cut dress with embroidered details, this dress made her look amazing. On the other hand, Christian wore a linen suit in a very light blue tone and combined it with a white shirt and a melon-colored bow tie.
Once they were both ready they began to move to the cenote, taking some pictures together, but without seeing each other, a moment that increased their anticipation to get to the ceremony to finally have the long-awaited «first look».
Each one of them traveled in separate transportation since their intention was not to see each other until the altar, so the first to arrive was Christian and his family, who got off the bus to take their place in the designated space.
Once all the guests were in place and Christian was ready, the Mayan priest began to bless and purify the ceremony space to receive the couple, then went up and received the bride who came down the stairs arm in arm with her father to meet Christian at the bottom of the stairs.
The couple entered together into the sacred space where the X’men (as the Mayan priest is known) began the Mayan ceremony with the sound of conch shells.
Asking permission and the blessing to the cardinal points the priest began with the union of this couple sharing with them the elements of the ceremony: Corn, honey, cocoa, salt, and candles all which have relevant meanings in the new life of the couple.
At the end of the ceremony, the traditional shells announced the new couple and all the guests cheered for the new union.
After this touching moment, the reception was ready and each guest took their place, a natural environment and harmonious tones embraced the reception.
Once everyone was in their place, the food was served, a 100% Yucatecan menu awarded the space and made the guests even more excited to be able to be living that moment.
When the banquet was over, the couple approached the dance floor where they had their first dance as husband and wife. This dance opened the dance floor and the party began.
Unique photoshoot in the water
The couple decided to enter the cenote to have a photoshoot in the crystal clear water. Once out, Erizol changed her dress for a more vaporous one with transparencies that she would wear to continue the party.
Before finishing the event, the guests enjoyed the mariachi that the couple arranged as a surprise. The guests stood up to dance and sing.
Once the mariachi was over, the event ended and everyone took their transportation back to the city to continue celebrating the union of these two adventurers.
