Destination Wedding at Tekik de Regil👰💘🤵 Monica & Ian
Monica and Ian, a young Mexican-American couple, traveled from the United States to celebrate their wedding in Yucatan at the hacienda Tekik de Regil, which was chosen to host their memorable event and enjoy an unforgettable day with their guests.
Beginning of the Journey
Their great day began early in the morning when the couple arrived in the company of their mothers, sister, and grandmother so that each could get ready in their rooms at the hacienda. The bride accompanied by her mother and grandmother enjoyed the make-up and hairstyling service. When the time came Monica put on her dress which had details of jewelry, lace and ruffles on the neckline, a very youthful A-line style that was perfect to look beautiful on her long awaited day.
On his side, the groom, who was wearing an elegant black tuxedo that would match perfectly with the bride, was also with his mother and sister in another room waiting for the moment when they could see each other again.
Can’t help falling in love
When they were both ready, Moni ran to meet Ian in the halls of the hacienda, and seeing her so spectacular and beautiful in her dress, the groom couldn’t help but fall in love with her all over again.
The couple decided to have a photo session throughout the hacienda to keep that moment as the best of memories, later their closest family members joined them to continue with the photographs on the stairs of the main house.
The hallway of love
As the guests began to arrive, the couple and their small court waited inside the room for everyone to take their place, the ceremony took place in the back aisle of the main house, an aisle famous for the beautiful hand painted mural by a Yucatecan muralist that added a unique beauty to the ceremony.
Guests took their places down this long and beautiful aisle ready to see the couple. Ian waited anxiously at the altar, we could see the bride’s parents entering hand in hand while Monica walked in dancing and living her moment down the aisle that was adorned with a semi-archway of white flowers and candles that created a romantic and ethereal ambiance.
When they arrived at the altar, Ian was waiting for her with a smile on his face and the ceremony began.
A ceremony like no other
It was a symbolic ceremony created by the couple themselves where at the beginning, the minister welcomed the attendees and offered a few words to the couple, then two of Monica and Ian’s best friends gave an emotional speech and wished them all the happiness in their marriage. The couple exchanged their vows and later their godparents gave them their wedding rings with which they pledged their fidelity and love for life.
The Mariachi time
At the end of the ceremony a cocktail awaited the guests at the powerhouse, so everyone walked to the site and had the opportunity to appreciate the beautiful illuminated structure.
Everyone was enjoying a relaxed evening until the sound of the trumpet and guitar flooded the atmosphere and the mariachis began to sing, all the guests could be seen excitedly enjoying this very Mexican moment and the surprise of the night was to see one of the bride’s cousins dressed as a mariachi asking for the microphone to dedicate some beautiful melodies to the new bride and groom.
The celebration was filled with happiness and it wasn’t long before Monica and Ian also took the microphone and started singing while everyone danced to Mexican music.
First dance Mexican style
At the main house, a spectacular reception was waiting for them, created by the couple for the delight of all their guests, a cheerful and colorful set up.
When the couple arrived, they delighted everyone with their first dance to the rhythm of the mariachi, when they finished, Monica’s father came over to dance with his daughter while Ian and his mother also danced happily on the dance floor, the grandparents did not miss the opportunity and did not take long to come over to dance with their grandchildren.
Surprising flavors and unparalleled entertainment
At the end of the dance, dinner was served. A gourmet menu with Yucatecan touches that delighted the guests who came from different parts of Mexico and the United States to taste flavors they had never tasted before.
When the dinner was about to end, a group of typical regional dancers appeared on the stairs of the main house and surprised the guests with the most representative dances of the region, the couple and the guests were encouraged and got up to dance with them, especially the parents and the bride’s family who ended up dancing with the dancers.
That fun moment started the beginning of the party, all the guests stood up from their seats and approached the dance floor to enjoy the atmosphere and the music provided by the DJ who entertained the event. A night full of love, color and lots of fun.
