Cenote X'Batun

Traditional ancestral wedding at cenote X’batun 🐚 Ale y Carlos

Ale and Carlos, a married couple with the illusion of renewing their vows, organized their celebration all the way from Toluca, Mexico. What was initially a surprise for Ale ended up becoming an intimate and wonderful moment with their closest family members.

Family comes first

On the day of the ceremony, Ale and Carlos had their getting ready at a hotel in downtown Merida, each enjoyed time with their children in their rooms: Ale with her daughter who had their hair done with her, and Carlos with his son.

After Ale’s make-up was done, it was time to put on her dress, the one chosen for the day was a classic white princess cut dress that looked perfect with the sand-colored linen suit that Carlos was going to wear.

All attendees were invited to follow the dress code which was white and beige clothing since the ceremony would take place at noon. Once everyone was ready, they left in different transportations to the cenote that would celebrate their union once again.

An ancient and magical place

At the cenote, a natural and rustic decoration was waiting for everyone. The ceremony was on the shore of the cenote under a gazebo with flowers and fabrics that looked perfect with the atmosphere that was set.

The entire ceremony area was prepared by the Mayan priest who purified the space for the couple. The moment the shells began to sound, Carlos appeared hand in hand with his daughter, after them his parents entered the sacred place and once they all arrived at the altar it was time for Ale to came down the stairs hand in hand with his son. Looks of happiness and joy were seen throughout the place.

The Mayan ceremony began and with the blessing of the gods. The elements of the altar were presented to them and the couple’s children were in charge of handing over the rings blessed by the priest. Ale and Carlos put on the rings and the priest gave them the final blessing sealing their union. The conch shells and drums sounded once again announcing the new couple.
