Hacienda San Pedro Ochil

Sunset Wedding at Hacienda San Pedro Ochil: Camila & Joshua

If you’re drawn to destination weddings where everyone travels not just for a day but for an experience, this story will feel very close to your heart…

The day began as only great days begin, with a silence and a smile.
While the sun warmed the old stone walls, the house slowly filled with movement: soft conversations over breakfast, suitcases in the hallway, familiar voices calling from room to room.

Everything flowed with ease because the day had been thought through in advance: timings, transportation, vendors, tiny details that no one notices when they work well. It’s the invisible side of planning wedding that allows the couple to simply be present.

From Itzincab to Ochil: the road to the celebration

Joshua was the first to leave towards Hacienda San Pedro Ochil, followed by the bridesmaids. A little later, it was Camila’s turn, dress in hand, veil carefully placed, surrounded by the people who had seen this love grow from the beginning.

For many of them, this trip was more than “just a wedding weekend”: it was a chance to discover a new place, explore cenotes, stroll through Mérida’s historic center, and taste local flavors they’d only seen before in a Yucatan travel guide.

Arriving at Hacienda San Pedro Ochil

Guests entered the welcome area, greeted by the warmth of the place and the soft rhythm of the afternoon. The stone, the greenery, and the open sky created a natural frame for what was coming next.

Little by little, everyone was guided towards the ceremony area by the cenote. The water, the steps, and the natural amphitheater created a setting that felt intimate even with all their loved ones gathered there.

It’s easy to understand why this hacienda is part of the luxury spot selection in Yucatán.

Vows by the water

As the violin began to play, Joshua walked down to the ceremony space and took his place, waiting.

Then it was Camila’s turn.
She appeared holding her father, each step bringing her closer to Joshua, and to the moment they had imagined so many times. There’s always a second of silence right before the couple sees each other, that pause where everything else disappears. This was no exception.

Surrounded by family and friends, they listened to words that spoke about commitment, respect, and choosing one another every day. In many ways, their ceremony became a living definition of interpersonal relationships: two families meeting, friendships crossing borders, stories weaving together in one place.

As the music slowly faded and the ceremony came to an end, the atmosphere shifted from emotion to celebration.

Golden hour, charcuterie and photographs

After the ceremony, guests were guided to the cocktail area while Camila & Joshua stayed near the cenote for their first photo session as newlyweds.

The timing was perfect.

In the cocktail area, guests enjoyed drinks, charcuterie, and conversation under the open sky. Violin music continued in the background, giving the moment a cinematic feeling without ever taking center stage.

At the end, the sun finally touched the horizon.
That sunset marked a quiet turning point, from promises spoken by the water to a night ready to be celebrated.

Dinner under the arches

The menu was served family-style, encouraging conversation and interaction across the table. Plates were passed, stories were shared, and people who had never met before found themselves laughing together, exactly the kind of atmosphere Camila & Joshua had hoped for.

Speeches added another layer of emotion to the evening. Words from family and friends painted a fuller picture of who they are as individuals and as a couple: how they met, what they’ve overcome together, and why everyone had traveled so far just to be there for them.

A night of music, dances and late-night energy

Camila & Joshua opened the dance floor with their first dance, followed by a special moment between Camila and her dad. It was a beautiful contrast: earlier, they had walked down to the ceremony together; now, they shared the dance floor as everyone watched and cheered.

It was the kind of celebration that doesn’t end with a single moment, but with a series of memories: a look across the table, a shared laugh, a quiet hug before saying goodbye.

A destination wedding that felt like home

That’s the real power of getting married in Yucatán: distance turns into an excuse to bring everyone together for longer, and places like Hacienda San Pedro Ochil turn a celebration into an experience.
